Marijuana is now legal for medicinal purposes in Jamaica and there should be no worries about smoking it anywhere on the property. Although local people can be seen smoking on the street, we do not advise it for our guests. We do not permit smoking in the house due to the fire hazard and burn holes in the upholstery. We have had a few guests who have allowed burning seeds to drop on the outdoor cushions and leave holes in them. Any further damages will be assessed to your damage waiver deposit.

The tap water in Negril comes from a natural spring in nearby Logwood, in Hanover. It is completely safe to drink. The Jamaicans take pride in their high quality public water system, however, as with most treated water, there is always a slight taste of chlorine. To eliminate this, we have installed a reverse osmosis water system with a tap on the sink top and a connection to the refrigerator. An indicator of the water’s purity is the clarity of the ice cubes. We also offer a sparkling water service; see the Home Page.

Llantrisant is a Welsh place name, in fact, the town where the Royal Mint is located. According to the history of Llantrisant, it means the Church of Three Saints. However, the property was named, perhaps by its first owner whose origins may have been Welsh, but he spelled Llantrissant with two s’s which has led to speculation that its etymological origin is less than saintly: llan is a Celtic word that means yard and trissant is derived from “tristre” which means “a secret meeting place in trust” from which the English word “tryst” is derived. So Llantrissant has a special meaning – a yard where lovers meet.
