The house
How many people can stay?
Up to 11, depending on how many couples are in your group. A crib, a child’s daybed, a playpen and an inflatable mattress can be set up just about anywhere.
How are the bedrooms arranged?
The great house has two ground-floor bedrooms with netted four-poster beds, each with its own bathroom; both bathrooms open onto the outdoor shower. Upstairs are two twin bedrooms (one pair joins into a king in the beach-view room) plus an alcove with a single bed, sharing one bathroom. The cottage has a queen bed and its own bathroom. See the bedrooms.
Is anyone else on the property?
No. Apart from the staff, the estate is entirely private. The only exception would be a tradesman called in for an emergency repair.
Can the cottage be rented on its own?
Not at the moment. The cottage is only let with the house, to keep the privacy that makes the estate special.
Is there air conditioning?
The house is built for the sea breeze, with louvred windows, classic Hunter ceiling fans in every room and a personal EvaPolar cooler on every bed. There’s no central air conditioning.
What about Wi-Fi and entertainment?
Fiber-optic internet feeds a Wi-Fi mesh network throughout the house. There’s also a 40″ TV with cable, a DVD player, and a Bluetooth amplifier with speakers inside and out.
Meals & staff
Are meals included?
The cooking is. Our cook and housekeeper shop and cook three meals a day for you; you cover the cost of the groceries. Ask us for an estimate when you book. Browse the villa menu.
Who does the shopping?
The staff usually do, and you’re welcome to join them. We’ll help you plan your meals before you arrive. Fresh fish comes from local fishermen or a fishmonger who delivers to the gate.
Who is on staff?
Four to six, depending on the size of your group: a restaurant-trained cook and a housekeeper who cook, serve and keep the house; a gardener who looks after the tennis court, the grounds and both beaches; and a security guard on the property from dusk until dawn.
Do you have a private chef?
In effect, yes. A restaurant-trained cook makes every meal to order for your group alone, with a housekeeper to help serve. You cover the groceries; the cooking is part of your stay. Browse the villa menu.
How does tipping work?
Gratuity is included in the rate, so anything extra is entirely up to you.
Can you handle dietary needs?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and halal menus are all easy; just tell us when you book.
