Know Better Social Distancing

Where else but a villa can you spend time with the ones that you love without the fear of Covid-19?

Jamaica is doing very well because of the strict lockdown measures that lasted almost three months. The statistics are very favorable – a total of 1,003 cases, 735 recovered and only 13 deaths! The best, up-to-date information can be found at http://jamaica-gleaner.com/covidstats/.

There is always the concern about imported cases and that is being addressed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism – https://www.visitjamaica.com/travelauthorization/

Our staff is COVID savvy and mindfully healthy. Temperature checks are made on arrival and masks are worn according to the government guidelines. Touchless alcohol gel dispensers are set up at the front gate and at the entrance to the house in the dining room. The staff adheres to the strictest health standards and the house is sanitized with antiseptic solutions before and after guests have checked in and out.

What The Future Holds

Until there is an effective vaccine or a significant medical advancement in the treatment or prevention, everyone will need to remain vigilant and follow the CDC guidelines – wear a mask when in public, wash hands often and maintain social distancing while off the property.

We are maintaining the house and property to the same standard of excellence that we did before the pandemic. The property is staffed 24/7 and is ready at a moment’s notice.

And, we are always making small upgrades in creature comforts and safety. We now have a DeLonghi Expresso coffee maker. Coffee can be ground to a powder-like consistency using Arabica beans from the Blue Mountains, but if you like the flavor of the robusta bean better then you may want to bring a pound or so with you.

We are now offering bottled water service: flat or sparkling. The cost of the service is a base rate of US$20 for the spring water for the first 15 gallons and each additional 5 gallons will cost US$7.00. Sparkling water will cost an additional US$30.00. Otherwise, the pipe water comes from Logwood, a local spring located in Hanover, that is filtered by the limestone formation of the Cockpit Country, then is filtered again by the National Water Commission’s water treatment plant and is filtered again at our kitchen sink. The sparkling water option is available for the tap water for $30.00.

For safety in the water, we now have swim buoys that attach to your waist if you want to swim outside of the marker buoys. These are highly visible to passing fishermen and glass-bottom boat captains for that extended swim.

We are encouraging reservations at this time since we are confident that strict adherence to responsible guidelines will flatten the curve in the US. As a measure of this confidence, we are offering a 30% discount through the end of the year. The Christmas and New Years holidays are already booked, but Thanksgiving is still available. Also, there is a 20% discount from January 3rd through 30th.

Our cancelation policy has remained the same – a full refund of the deposit is provided if a booking is canceled prior to 45 days of arrival. If there is another lockdown or if the dates have to be canceled due to illness within the 45-day timeframe, then the funds will be applied to a future reservation.

We now have a business listing with Google and have an excellent ranking when searching for ‘Villas in Negril’. Of course, the number of reviews helps with a natural ranking, so if you have stayed on the property or have attended an event, we would certainly appreciate it if you would write and submit a review to our Google business listing.

All the best from Craig, Cherry, our family, and the staff.
